Can I use 2-Soft if I run out for 2-Thin for my airbrush?Updated a month ago
While both Angelus 2-Thin and 2-Soft are designed to modify Angelus Acrylic Paints, they serve very different purposes—and because of that, they aren’t interchangeable.
✔ Angelus 2-Thin is specially formulated to thin paint for airbrushing on leather, ensuring a smooth flow through the airbrush while maintaining durability and adhesion. It helps prevent clogs and gives you a flawless, even application.
✔ Angelus 2-Soft, on the other hand, is designed for painting fabrics. It keeps materials soft and flexible after painting, preventing stiffness or cracking on soft textiles.
Since 2-Soft is not made for airbrushing on leather, using it as a substitute for 2-Thin is not recommended—it won’t provide the same consistency, adhesion, or smooth finish you need for leather projects.
🚨 Need an alternative to 2-Thin? If you’re out and looking for a replacement, we recommend using a thinning medium specifically formulated for acrylic airbrush applications. Not sure what to use?
