Can I use dye on patent (plastic) leather?Updated 2 months ago

Yes, you can use dye on patent (plastic) leather, but there are a few important things to keep in mind:

✔ Dye will significantly darken patent leather (patent leather is a clear plastic film) so expect a deeper shade than the original color.
The dye will mix with the existing color of the patent leather, which can affect the final result. For example, applying red dye over white patent leather may create a pinkish tone rather than a true red.

Because of this blending effect, we recommend carefully selecting your dye color and testing on a small, hidden area first to ensure you achieve the desired outcome.
