How do I prepare Nike Foamposites?Updated a month ago
Best Angelus Products for Prepping Nike Foamposites
Product | Why it's Essential |
High-Grit Sandpaper (800-1500 grit) | Scuffs the hard shell for better paint grip |
Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer | Cleans and opens the surface |
Adhesion Promoter | Ensures strong paint adhesion on slick, hard materials |
Applicator Pads | Easy, mess-free product application |
Step 1: Lightly Sand the Surface
Use high-grit sandpaper (800–1500 grit) to gently scuff the outer shell of the Foamposite. This helps remove the gloss and creates a textured surface that paint can grip.
Step 2: Clean with Preparer & Deglazer
After sanding, wipe the area clean using Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer. Apply it with a microfiber towel or applicator pad to remove any residue or oils left behind.
Step 3: Apply Adhesion Promoter
Once the surface is dry, apply Adhesion Promoter. This helps paint stick to the plastic-like material and prevents cracking or peeling.
