What is the difference between Leather & Suede Dyes?Updated 2 months ago

Leather and suede may both be types of leather, but they need different kinds of dyes to keep them looking and feeling their best!

Leather Dye is packed with rich, vibrant color that soaks deep into smooth leather, creating a long-lasting finish. Since it penetrates the material, it’s ideal for achieving bold, durable color on standard leather surfaces.

Suede Dye is specially formulated for soft, textured suede. Unlike leather dye, it has a lower concentration of pigment to help maintain suede’s natural softness and velvety texture. Using leather dye on suede can cause it to stiffen and lose that signature softness.

💡 Thinking about mixing leather and suede dyes? While you can experiment with blending them for custom shades, keep in mind that the results may vary—the mix might not be as strong on leather, and the outcome on suede can be unpredictable. If you’re feeling creative, we always recommend testing on a small area first to see how it turns out!
